Mayor Jean Stothert and Douglas County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour held a news conference Monday afternoon to provide a COVID-19 update.
Pour said a more contagious variant one that originated in the United Kingdom is the one she sees the most in Douglas County. She said those who are 20 to 29 years old are being diagnosed with the variant the most.
“What we all need to remember: these variants have a higher transmissibility,” the health director said.
